Newz From The Prez
by Nathan Block
Greetings all! I apologize that I was not able to make the last meeting, but my Pennsylvania trip was incredible. I will bring pictures for anyone interested at the next meeting.
National news from ATARI is still not good ... surprise, surprise. The Jaguar was #1 in sales for the first few months of its release, but when ATARI failed to follow up with additional software titles, sales plummeted. I talked to several retailers in Chicago who had Jaguars and they said that they were not selling at all anymore. How ATARI has continued to shoot themselves in the foot and stay in business is still beyond me. ATARI Games on the other hand has just put out a new arcade game called Primal Rage which has been three years in the making. The game currently is being well received and has graphics and sound like you would not believe. If you have not seen it, it is basically Jurassic Park in game format, two players can compete head to head controlling dinosaurs in competition for global domination. It is worth a trip to your local arcade to see it.
Coming up - November meeting is election and December, as always, is the Christmas BASH. If you plan on running for office, be sure you show up this month for nominations.
That is about it. See you all at the October meeting!

Treasurer's Report by Greg Leitner
Well summer's gone and I expect we will start seeing more members show up for the October meeting. Our September meeting had less then ten members present and it was discouraging that no one had anything to sell or to browse for. If we are going to impress any new or prospective members, we are going to have to show them that we can help to support and enhance the systems. We have to show them that we are still providing that much needed support for their ATARI systems and we can only do that with every members help. Thanks to Rich Mier for bringing in his magazines. According to Rich, they are the last of the USA Atari Magazines around today.
Because of the low turnout for the September meeting, we only took in $16.00 for the month and it was all in DOM's and blank disk sales. Thankfully, we only had a $43.50 expense, which was for the August and September BBS phone bills. Our balance at months end, Sept. 30th, 1994, is $580.48. With our expenses being kept to a minimum, we could really improve and strengthen our Club financially if we could only get more members to show up for the meetings.
So please join us for the next meeting on October 14, 1994, if you have Atari items you are no longer using or have no further need for, please by all means bring them to the next meeting to sell. Every one seems to really enjoy the flea market part before the official meeting begins, myself included. Also, it would be nice to see some of the Atari ST people out there join us since we have opened up the Club to all Atari users no mater what computer model they are using.
See you all on Oct. 14th.
