Newz from the Prez
August of 1992

Members of SPACE, great things are at hand. This month is the raffle for the color TV and boombox that is supposed to raise the money for the Bob Puff raffle. Then for the September, Mr. Robert Puff will indeed be addressing our club on the current issues in the ATARI 8-BIT community.

I am once again encouraging everyone to continue to sell raffle tickets. Please remember that it was you, the membership, that suggested selling raffle tickets as a way to raise money for this club endeavor. I wish to share a little bit of news with you. My father took 3 ticket books to work and sold all of them in one day, 30 tickets in one day. There is $60 on my desk that my dad earned for our club on his lunch hour. While I don't expect everyone to sell 30 tickets, I am hoping that all of you could sell at least 5 tickets. Many of you reading this newsletter will find 5 raffle tickets enclosed. PLEASE DO YOUR BEST TO SELL THOSE FIVE TICKETS. If everyone made $10 for this club, we would easily be able to make enough money for Mr. Puff's visit.

Now I have even more good news for you. Sack in May when we were planning budgeting Mr. Puff's visit, we projected a figure of $900 for the overall expense. Due to wonderful efforts by Earline Fitzpatrick in finding inexpensive airfare tickets, we were able reduce the figure considerably.

I was able to locate a relatively inexpensive meeting room and hotel accommodations for Mr. Puff. Our total expenses now come out just slightly under $600! Just think if we could sell all the raffle tickets we printed, this club would make a great deal of profit on this arrangement.

I cannot emphasize how important it is for everyone to attend the next meeting. Number one, it will be the biggest raffle this club has ever seen. Number two, we will be selling additional raffle tickets at the door. Number three, we are going to have a special DESSERT NIGHT at this month's meeting! I would encourage you to bring friends that have purchased raffle tickets or other friends that wouldn't mind spending $2 to help our club out. This will be one of our top meetings of the year. PLEASE DO YOUR BEST TO COME TO THIS MONTH'S MEETING. It is the last opportunity we will have to discuss the Bob Puff visit before he actually arrives.

I am very excited at how smoothly everything has proceeded so far. Please be a part of it. Please attend the August meeting. Please sell your raffle tickets. Please support SPACE.

Your president,

Nathan Block

July Meeting Minutes!
By: -= * Mike Cable * =-

There was an estimated 40 people present at the Birthday party. The actual meeting was about...1 min.! Mostly it was a time to PARTY. There were many activities to join into such as a Trivia game, which the people at the meeting were split in half into teams. The winning team got a free disk from out of "The BOX", and a PACMAN(c) contest!! The winner was awarded the Special Birthday Party D.O.M., FREE! There was a raffle off for many things including a color MONITOR! And some software items. Bob Puff is coming out! That has been made official. The only consequence from this if we don't try to sell raffle tickets will be to the TREASURY! So please help,
